Proxies for Instagram: which type to use and why
A proxy makes an account reach the internet through another IP address. For Instagram, the type of that IP matters and so does each account having its own, but a proxy only covers the network: the phone is still the same.

Types of proxy
| Type | Where the IP comes from | For Instagram accounts |
|---|---|---|
| Datacenter | A hosting provider's servers | The least like a regular user |
| Residential | Home connections | Looks like a regular user; may rotate |
| ISP (static residential) | An internet provider, with a stable IP | Fixed and trusted IP: good for an account that lasts |
| Mobile | Mobile carrier networks | Looks like a phone; usually the most expensive |
One fixed IP per account
For accounts that need to last, the usual approach is for each account to always go out through the same clean IP, without sharing it with others unless you decide to.
Our plans include free clean static proxies: 10 with the iPhone plan and 30 with iPhone + Anna.
Why a proxy alone is not enough
A proxy changes the network, but not the phone: the device identifier, app data and location stay the same for every account that uses it.
That is why, on our iPhones, each account has its own isolated iPhone: its own iOS, data and identity, plus the location and network that match it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the same proxy for two accounts?
You can, but they become linked by the network. In our dashboard a proxy is only shared if a person decides so.
Is a free proxy OK for Instagram?
Not a good idea: they are usually IPs shared by many people and already flagged.
